Fish and Ships Festival 2019

The festival will focus on Whitby’s Fishing Heritage and involve: -

• Live cookery demonstrations from local chefs in the food marquee and celebrity chef’s (Brian Turner & Jean-Christophe Novelli)
• Demonstrations from local restaurants and a Whitby seafood trail
• Fish filleting demonstrations and BBQ’s
• North Eastern Guardian Fishery Protection Vessel Tours
• Special Exhibition in Pannett Art Gallery on Dora Walker
• Fireworks and Children’s Activities
• Talks from local fishermen (Fred Normandale/Arnold Locker) in Whitby library, childrens workshops & special exhibition
• Children’s animation workshop in Whitby Library from an animator from Wallace and Gromit - Virpi Kettu (from Finland)
• Live music and sea shanty’s
• Craft stalls
• Special exhibition Captain Cook Memorial Museum & HM Bark Endeavour
• Angling Competition
• Whitby Rowing Club Competition
